A marketing website is a website built around one action per page: request a quote, call, book, or buy. A brochure website is built to exist. The difference is not the number of pages or the technology; what matters is whether every page has a job and a next step.
That distinction costs Indian businesses money in 2026, because both kinds of site cost the same to build. A five-page site with one clear action costs ₹8,999. A five-page site that only describes the company costs ₹8,999 too, and earns nothing.
What a marketing website is
A marketing website is the part of your marketing that you own. Ads, Instagram, and Google Business Profile rent you attention. The website is the page that turns that attention into an enquiry, at 9pm, on a phone, without you answering.
It has four jobs, in this order:
- Be findable. One page per thing people search for, whether that is a service, an industry, a city or a product.
- Be understood in ten seconds. What you do, who for, and where, in plain words at the top of the page.
- Be trusted. Real work, real names, real prices, and a phone number that answers.
- Be actionable. One visible next step, repeated down the page, that works with a thumb.
Miss one and the site becomes a brochure, or worse, a shop window nobody walks past.
Marketing website vs brochure website
| Brochure website | Marketing website | |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Show the company exists | Produce an enquiry |
| Homepage | Welcome message, company history | Offer, audience, proof, action |
| Page count | Fixed, rarely changes | One page per search intent, grows |
| Content | Written about the business | Written about the customer’s problem |
| Calls to action | “Contact us” at the bottom | One primary action, repeated |
| Proof | Logo wall | Named projects with links |
| Measurement | None | Search Console, analytics, enquiry count |
A business website can be either.
The difference is whether someone planned the pages around customer questions or filled a template with company facts.
Why “we have Instagram and WhatsApp” is not the same thing
Need a website built properly?
Fast, modern, fully owned — from ₹7,999, delivered in 1–2 weeks.
Chat on WhatsAppSee pricingBangalore businesses raise this in almost every first call, and it deserves a real answer rather than a sales line.
Instagram decides who sees you. WhatsApp decides nothing; it only works once someone already has your number. Neither one gives you a page that appears when a stranger searches “fabrication company in Peenya” at 11pm, and neither lets you show a price, a specification sheet, or a completed project in the order you want it read.
We wrote the long version separately: do you still need a website in 2026, including the cases where the answer is no.
What a marketing website costs in India
Prices below are our own published packages, not market averages, so you can check them on pricing:
| Package | Price | What the page has to do |
|---|---|---|
| Launch | ₹7,999 | One landing page, one action, WhatsApp and enquiry form |
| Catalog | ₹8,999 | Up to four pages plus a product or service catalogue |
| Growth | ₹19,999 | Up to six pages, editable sections, analytics |
| Business | ₹24,999 | Up to eight pages, schema, sitemap, gallery |
| Professional | ₹34,999 | Larger scope, integrations, custom sections |
| Enterprise | Quoted | Portals, applications, catalogues above 100 SKUs |
Agency quotes for comparable scope run ₹20,000 to ₹60,000. Both numbers describe different products, so neither is wrong. The cost guide explains why identical scope gets quotes five times apart, and what recurs every year.
The structure that makes it work
A marketing website is not a homepage plus an About page. It is one page per question a buyer asks before they call you.
Start with services. One page per service, named the way customers name it, which means a fabricator should not own a “Solutions” page; it should own MS fabrication, SS fabrication and site installation.
Then industries or audiences. The same service sold to a different buyer is a different page, and that is why we build separate pages for industrial websites and small business websites: the buyer, the proof, and the objection are all different.
Location comes next, because city and neighbourhood pages carry local search. website development in Bangalore shows the pattern.
Proof is the part most sites skip. A portfolio page that links to live sites beats a row of logos, and ours links to the builds so you can load them and check.
Finish with the offer: a price, a package, or a starting point. “Contact us for pricing” tells a buyer you are about to waste their time.
The twelve types of websites guide maps each of these structures to a business type, if you are still deciding what to build.
How to tell whether yours is working
You do not need a dashboard. Five numbers, checked monthly, tell you whether the site is a marketing website or an expensive brochure:
- Impressions in Google Search Console, to see whether anyone finds you at all.
- Clicks, and which queries produce them.
- Enquiries: form submissions plus WhatsApp messages that name a service.
- Qualified enquiries, meaning how many of those could actually buy.
- Cost per enquiry: build cost plus monthly running cost, divided by enquiries in the period.
If impressions are zero, the problem is structure and content, not design. If impressions are healthy and enquiries are zero, the problem is the offer or the action. If enquiries arrive but none of them are qualified, the page is written for the wrong reader.
We do not publish a target conversion rate. A clinic and a fabricator have different numbers, and an average of the two would tell neither of them anything useful.
Five failures we fix most often
- A homepage that says nothing. “We are a leading provider of innovative solutions” describes no business. Say what you build, for whom, in which city.
- No price signal. Buyers filter by budget before they call, and a starting price qualifies them for free.
- One page trying to serve every audience. Manufacturers, retailers, and homeowners need different words.
- A form that does not deliver. Test it, because a form that silently fails is worse than no form.
- A slow site on a cheap phone. Most Indian traffic is a mid-range Android on mobile data, and four seconds is long enough for the visitor to leave before your headline loads. This is why we build static sites and hold them to a performance budget, and the same budget is checked before every commit on this site.
What we do differently
We build marketing websites as static Astro sites: no page builder, no plugin stack, no monthly platform fee. The source code is yours at launch, hosting runs on Cloudflare’s free tier at normal traffic, and pages load in under a second.
Next step
If you already have a website and are not sure whether it qualifies, send us the URL. We will tell you what it is missing and what it would cost to fix, or that it does not need fixing.
If you are starting from nothing, the twelve types of websites guide names the build you need, and pricing gives you the number before the call. Send the details and we will reply with a written scope.
